How we got here
The problem was always the same.
For ten years, Sri ran a corporate service provider in Singapore. At peak, he was personally overseeing 500 client entities — AGM cycles, ACRA filings, share registers, director changes. The full weight of a high-volume secretarial practice, every day.
The software available at the time was built to generate documents. Resolutions, minutes, registers — it handled those. What it could not do was help you run the practice behind them. Who owns this filing? Which clients are coming due? Is anyone on the team already stretched? That information lived in spreadsheets, in WhatsApp, and in people's heads.
Secretaries burnt out. Work slipped through. Good firms plateaued because they could not scale without adding headcount for every 50 new entities they took on.
ClientBase started from a simple question: what would it look like if someone built the right system for this — not adapted from a generic tool, but designed from scratch around how company secretarial work is actually structured and delivered?
